Meet Rebeca

Rebeca Rubin is a New York State licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. She is a member of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC). In addition, she holds her certificate as a Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD).

Rebeca graduated from Emory University with a Bachelor of Business Administration and she earned a Master of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology from CUNY Hunter College.

She is trained in Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets (PROMPT). In addition, she is working towards becoming certified in Orton Gillingham at the Associate Level through the Orton-Gillingham Academy (OGA) as well as becoming a certified Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist through the International Dyslexia Association (IDA).

Rebeca believes in providing each client with individualized therapy by planning functional and meaningful activities that encourage carryover.  In addition, she always strives to create a supportive and fun environment for her clients.  Rebeca aims to promote success and confidence by reinforcing strengths and building upon areas where her clients need improvement in order for them to flourish outside of therapy. Rebeca believes that providing therapy in the child’s preferred and natural environment allows for children to develop critical communication skills that can have transformative impacts in many areas of their lives.

She has worked in a variety of settings, including school-based therapy, home-based therapy and in an outpatient clinic. Working with a diverse caseload has allowed Rebeca to develop a successful therapeutic model by directly collaborating with the most important individuals involved in a child’s development. By working in conjunction with families, teachers, and healthcare providers, she ensures goals are met and each child reaches his or her maximum potential through an engaged, dynamic, play-based approach.
